Ever faithful, Grandpa "Dick" Yole, packing his Tilly hat and the same simple lunch, tended to the grass between the vines, mowing each row weekly, well past his 89th birthday. He came to Canada from England as a child evacuee during WWII. He joined the Royal Cdn Air Force in 1952 and became a navigator, like his oldest brother, flying Lancasters. Smokie always promised him an off-dry style white wine - and this year, in his honour, Smokie finally perfected it. Cheers Dick, this one is for you.
Aromas from this clear, deep, lemon beauty are of hay fields, red apples, and honeydew. Tastes of honey, orange and white flowers pair well with spicy or rich plates - certainly not Dick's usual lunch fair!
